How to market your club with help from the Toastmasters International Brand Portal

Image
toastmasters International brand portal has templates for address cards, websites, banners for Facebook and LindedIn. For example   Keep a folder of useful photos, such as Powerpoint slides, posters used on whatsApp, Facebook photos of contests and installation of committee, to post on Facebook, or use in Powerpoint slides for your club or club officer training or in general.

How to Join Toastmasters? How to Improve FAQ on the toastmasters International Website?

On Facebook I am on a forum page about Toastmasters International. Somebody asked if we trust the management. It turns out that there are members of the Board, who we vote in, and consist of directors of each region, elected every year, which are distinct from the website and admin of TI based in the headquarters in the USA and managing the website through a website construction and maintenance company. If you are a president or VPE of a club, you can go to the AGM of your region, hear the candidates and vote for them, as well as hearing praise and thanks. You might also hear heated discussions, and accusations of inaction or misappropriation of funds. o they can get an instant response. Like many organizations, the TI FAQ ends with was this helpful yes/no, but it may have helped in one point but not another point which would have solved your problem. Giving you a useful answer, and actually solving your problem are two different levels. For example, how to join tells you to find...

Awards to President Yenny in 2020

Image
Angela on the left, Yenny on the right. Yenny made frequent efforts to speak on the phone as well as to meet physically throughout the difficult Covid-19 period. Her policy was to always consult all members before making any decision. At the Division S Achievers Day, in 2020, Braddell Heights achieved an award and so did president Yenny. Yenny spoke up, but was a good listener. She brought in outside speakers such as Nazrin.

Presidents Distinguished Club - Congratulations to President Yenny and the team

2022 was another great year for Braddell Heights Advanced.  What is it? Your club gains points for these achievements: 1 The club gaining members. 2 Members completing levels of Pathways.  (Pathways is a bit like learning English at school. Think of it as passing five tests or getting an award for two to five pieces of homework, which include reading instructions, completing the written assignment and giving a speech at a meeting.) How did we do it?  I shall ask President Yenny, and our club coaches Vincent and Lim Tong Lee. Friendship and Fellowship To retain members, you speak to them at meetings, before, in the interval or afterwards. You speak to them on the phone or message them in WhatsApp or contact them on Facebook or twitter or gmail or other media.   You answer them promptly. At least with one word, noted. You send thanks and happy birthday. And where were you, are you ok? You organize meetings and meetups at least once a month and ideally weekly...

How the General Evaluator and minutes of their report helps those attending meetings and those absent

In Facebook on the Pathways discussion forum I replied   Great idea for each GE to check that the club acts on useful suggestions from the previous GE. Who circulates the minutes. Is it the Secretary or the VPE or the President. Who is supposed to do it and who does it in practice? Does the GE send a written report or does the minute taker for the meeting take notes or view a recording? Circulating the minutes of the meeting including the GE report is of benefit to an absent committee member and any member whose work or forgetfulness or inertia prevents them from attending. it means they are still benefitting from learning from each club meeting and getting value for the what they paid the club for membership.
